“People become so obsessed with reaching their destination that they forget to enjoy the ride.”
What do you like most about yourself?
How much I’ve grown mentally as a person in the past few years. When I was fourteen I was an anxious, young shell of a person, trying to find some meaning and happiness in my life. Now, I feel like I’ve blossomed. I am headstrong, independant, ready to take on any obstacles I may come across. I’m everything young me wanted to be and more.
What makes you smile?
Truthfully it would be seeing the people close to me happy. I love motivating my friends and seeing them do well, but mostly just seeing them smile and content with life. Plus my dogs are pretty damn silly and give me a good giggle now and then. And what makes you sad? Negative, closed-minded people.
Your generation is all about…?
Changing perception on the “norm”. Regardless of everything that is still occurring, we have broken so many boundaries when it comes race, gender, sexuality, politics, etc. We raise subjects that our predecessors were afraid to talk about.
I became pescatarian about five months ago, so I’ve recently been trying out lots of different foods. My favourite food is a greek recipe – stuffed tomatoes and peppers with a side of roasted veggies, halloumi and sweet potato fries – yummy!
I’m just finishing a book called Memoirs of a Geisha, I have absolutely adored reading it. It’s such a moving, deep book and I really recommend it to everyone. I’m yet to watch the film!
I have so many but my all time favourite is Moulin Rouge… keep your eyes out, I am hoping to get a tattoo based around it.
What do you expect from life?
I think my philosophy at the moment is to not expect anything from life – but take it with a pinch of salt. People become so obsessed with reaching their destination that they forget to enjoy the ride.
I read something the other day that said ‘Until you give up the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are.’ So all I aim to do is reach my goals one by one, joining an amazing agency such as VauHaus was one of them… and I succeeded! I want to keeping moving onwards and upwards while having a blast! And what is the most important thing in your life?
I’ve also learnt to love myself and that it’s okay to put myself first sometimes, so my health and happiness is always at the forefront of my mind. My family and friends have been so supportive over the years, and I am so grateful for those who have kept me grounded; those who have shown me my potential when I couldn’t see it myself. Big love.
